If it is really the windshield gasket without the cut for the trim it's
pretty rare. I know when Christy Barden restored a 60 to FS restored a few
years ago, the windshield gasket was one of the hardest parts to find.

Can anyone ID this part number as to application? It does not show up as
a
valid Corvair part number in the references I use or have.
Thanks,

Check your number out, Mike!
There is a part number 6276687 (Note the third digit) in the 1969 Parts &
Accessories book. It is in group 10.092 and is listed as a " CHANNEL
ASSEMBLY, Windshield glass" for the 60-64 (STD) (exc. STA WAG.)
- I think that is the windshield rubber for all except with the Deluxe trim
with the stainless Steel insert.
If your part is really P/N 6256687 - Then I have no idea. - Sorry
