What you say is true, up to a point. I think that maybe the tele column is
unique in this situation. The problem with the tele column is that, unlike
those parts you list, it is an assembly made up with two "types" of parts.
The first is shared parts, the second is Corvair-only parts. It's this
first group that the Corvette people are after. The second group is what at
least some of them pitch in the trash (and YES I've seen it happen.)
Should they even if they reproduce any tele parts, they will only reproduce
the shared parts. They will have no incentive to reproduce any of the
Corvair-only parts, as they have no need for them. After all, it's those
parts that they pitch in the trash.
As I see it, what would be best for ALL of us is if we intentionally starve
the Corvette (and other non-Corvair) people of Corvair tele columns. That
would force them to reproduce the parts they need, and free us up to have
available the remaining assemblies.
BTW, you can add the '67 remote control mirror to your list.
