Wesley Jewett, an active member of Colonial Corvair and Bay State Corvair in Massachusetts, passed away on Monday. Wes was a warm, cheerful, lovely man and his loss will be felt deeply in the New England Corvair world, as well as among owners of VW- and Corvair-powered dune buggies. He was one of the organizers of the annual VolksVair show in Shrewbury, MA, and active in all aspects of the Corvair hobby. Wes was an innovative machinist,
making auxiliary fans for engines and a cleverly-designed valve cover
racer which he ran in regional and national events. He was an enthusiastic promoter of Corvairs, attending many summertime cruise nights and serving as a cheerful source of information and assistance to fellow car nuts. He and his wife Pauline always lit up a room.
