When I first got into Corvairs in 2004, one of the first things I did
was help a buddy change the 3 speed in his Corsa for a 4 speed. It had
a 4 speed knob on the shifter, but it was definitely a 3 speed! I don't
know if it was factory or not, but it looked like it had been in the car
for quite a while... who knows??

It was in beautiful shape (a 140) and I couldn't believe it was a 3 speed but he proved it by putting it in what would have been 1st in a 4 speed and backing it up. The car was in terrific shape but he never followed through on selling it to me. Of course I would have replaced the 3 speed with a 4 speed, but it never happened.
