<VV> Was the Astro I the 'prototype' 1968 Corvette ?

Hmmm... Interesting and certainly a nice design (the “Phoenix”) but I’m not certain which came first ?  The Astro I was 1967, but when did the Phoenix get built ?

I think the Fitch Phoenix was the insperation for the 68 Corvette design.
