I think your lyrics would definitely clash with the most widely recognized  
version of that song....by John Coltrane.  I mean....Corvair story meshed  
with a lilting 3/4 time jazz modal waltz?   I don't know....  If  I still 
had my straight soprano (or the saxello), I could try it out with my  wife - 
who can't carry a tune - singing.
