The very first error is carbs make more HP than EFI. Given both are
optimized for making HP, EFI will ALWAYS beat a carb. Less air flow
resistance, better air/fuel mixing, and the obvious one, far better A/F
control.

In addition, one of the areas that is MOST effected by EFI and horsepower is
"area under the curve"...the TOTAL HP produced by the system.  You CAN make
a carb match EFI horsepower at a given RPM point without increasing the
complexity of the system inordinately (use a Rochester or Holly as your
model).  But to maximize the "area under the curve" you are rapidly running
out of capability to do anything but a "half-a-hammer-handle" level of
efficiency.  Even by accepting tremendously complex carb systems (Weber or
Solex) that are frankly, at the limit of practicality, the "area under the
curve" with carbs is still highly restricted.  EFI gives you the entire
enchilada, and all the HP you can get from a given displacement and
head-flow based on the software design criteria (things like emissions).
