<VV> Control Rod Bushings

The front control rod bushings on my '62 wagon don't look anything like the ones Clark's is now selling for '62 and up.  Trouble is, they don't look anything like either of the two shown on page 155 of their catalog as it looks as though the ones removed never had a tapered section like the cataloged replacements.  Does the heavy concave washer really go against the small end of the rubber bushings?  How do I know if maybe the car has a '61 front suspension on it?  Any advice available here?
