Turbovair has it right. The 4 deg retard shifts the torque curve UP the 
speed range about 400 rpm. You don't need it. But a new cam gear is suggested 
and be sure that it is installed right by freezing the cam and heating the gear 
to 350-400 degrees AND holding the gear in place until the whole thing returns 
to room temp. You don't want the large washer to be able to rotate around 
the cam!!!
