I would think that a repro tank, especially the one made in Canada, would be
better than an original one!
Remember the Corvair was supposed to be an economy car and everything was
designed "down to a price".
The purchasing dept. got their bonuses by getting stuff cheaper than
designed costs, so they beat up the vendors to make stuff even cheaper!
It is a miracle a new car runs at all or lasts thru the warranty period.
