<VV> Help: Repainting the '64 'vert

About five years ago I put single-stage PPG Deltron paint on my daughter's
daily-driven, ungaraged '64 'vert. Then two years ago, the car was hit and
the repaired areas (right quarter and door) were painted in a base/clear of
unknown maker. I'm finishing up repairing the rust, and it now needs a
complete repaint. What's the best method? Will scuffing the existing paint
and laying down a good epoxy sealer be a solid base to shoot primer and
base/clear?
