 I have a Carter EKE in my boat, and it is closed loop, unlike water injection. One really isn't a substitute for the other, however. Both together would be DA BOMB! Figuratively speaking, of course!

Carlton:  Have you looked into water injection?  I built a system for around 
$125 that effectively controls pinging and allows me to advance my timing to get 
much better performance.

If you like I can send you the setup, but it's pretty standard:  12v water pump, 
solenoid, hoses and nozzle, fittings and relays.
