Jeff,
Is it a ticking sound (ignition) or a warrrring sound
(generator/alternator)? Does it change with RPM? Do you have the grounding
straps from the side shroud to the body?

Subject: <VV> Installing Radio Capacitor
After installing the Champion spark plugs sent by Clark's, I find that
my AM radio now has as lot of static on the admittedly very few AM
stations I'm able to pick up here in midcoast Maine. I remember that I
used to specify "resistor" plugs so as to lessen radio interference.
So I stopped at our local garage and the mechanic gave me an old
capacitor to install. He thinks it goes to the + wire on the coil, and
need to be grounded to the body. Is this right?
Thanks,
Jeff Aronson
