Ray,
I agree that it is an excellent unit. A word of advice for new users of ANY GPS. When it's new to you, do NOT wait to use it until you have to go someplace that you don't already know how to get to. Instead, get experience using it to go places you already KNOW so you get used to how it works and can see that it doesn't always pick out the BEST way to go, but it will almost always get you there. So get accustomed to how it works BEFORE your REALLY need it to find a strange place.
Mine is setup for a English female voice. You can tell she's not "real" because if you ignore her advice she doesn't tell you what an idiot you are like a real woman would do, but instead she merely says "recalculating" in her delightful British accent.<GGGG>

The Garmin Nuvi 255W was very highly recommended to me, and I'd like to
pass the same on to you. We bought one for my father 2 months ago and loved
it so much we went out and got another for me. The unit is very easy to use
and has the latest technology.. so it works very well. This is considered
an "entry level" unit but it is very good.
You can purchase a Nuvi 255w for about $150.00 if you shop around or
wait for a sale... here it is for $151.17 on Amazon.com...
