All that I can say is that this was apparently in the days before CLASS 
ACTION lawsuits.  You know - the ones designed to make the lawyers 
wealthy(er).  Otherwise, the estimates may have been calculated in a 
different manner.

But, since my response begins to look like something for VV-Talk I'll have 
nothing more to say on this.
