<VV> MORE ON ALTERNATOR

when my electrical guy built me 2 140 amp delco alternators for the boat ,  
he had some little module that plugged on the regulator terminals (on the 
side)  , and just the wire to the battery thru a large fuse. all this talk 
has me  thinking of going over and investigating.  of course the boat had 
ammeters  in the circuit somehow at the feeds (fuse blocks).
i use the sense wire on my cars.
