<VV> My differential oil seems to be overfilled

if this is a powerglide , the seal INSIDE the differential on the rear of  
the pinion shaft is probable leaking. this requires a complete disassembly 
of  the unit to repair correctly. most units i have taken apart the last few 
years  have that seal hardened up and leaking.. i recommend getting the book 
sold by  corvanatics and others by bob balew on differential , and the one 
on  powerglides.  study up , it is not that hard (after cleaning parts!) to  
do.
