I have a trailer hitch(bar) that extends from one hole to the other and is mounted through these holes. They may not have been there for that reason, but the bar mounts perfectly to these 2 holes. I use it to pull a small trailer and put my bike rack on it. Ken Clark

Carl and I have come to the conclusion that the two holes on the bottom
of the bumper have something to do with manufacturing or assembly at the
factory, since all lates have 'em -- can't think of any other reason for
them... what does Bob Helt think??

You can see that there is one hole to the left and one hole to the right of the "C" shaped slot in the center. This slot is at the bottom of the bumper.
