I've fiddled with the cross shaft and can't see a binding up there. The
throttle rod seems to attach as it did before, but it does appear to
turn or twist during the last short distance to fully closed. The
throttle return spring is relatively new and strong.
Since you had it apart, it is possible that you re-installed one of the
rod/links upside down. Usually, by this time, they have been tweaked enough
that the angle of the rod, as it approaches the blade/lever" with the hole,
may have taken a set or been twisted one way or another. As you move the
cross-shaft through it's travel, the tip of the rod should stay relatively at
a 90 degree angle to the blade. If upside down - especially on the right
side, since the left side has the adjustment - see if flipping it makes a
difference. On the left side, the adjuster should be down at the carb, not up
at the cross-shaft. In addition, you can loosen the three bolts that retain
the pivot for the bellcrank on each side, and move it around a bit to
change the angles.
