I've been having problems getting the taillight bulb socket to stay in its metal housing inside the engine bay. The original was damaged from old age, and I was able to buy a new one at my FLAPS.
However, the new socket seems to be of inferior quality and doesn't say in its mounting behind the cove panel.
My solution was to use those plastic cable ties, the kind that "zip" closed and ratchet closed when tied. The tie goes in between the white and black wires in the socket, then I loop it up around the metal housing, pulling the socket snug into its housing permanently.
If anyone is having this problem, the platic cable ties works and is a good cheap solution. Just use a tie that is long enough to wrap around the assembly. To remove it (like to replace a burnt bulb), simply insert a tiny, sharp screwdriver in the slot in the tie where it locks, and lift the locking tab. The tie can then be unzipped and the socket removed. This also makes the tie re-useable. This works for the LM cars, I don't know how the EM sockets are installed.
