There's one more thing nobody mentioned and that's the sheet metal
under the rear backlight.
The so-called package area.
The '60 package area is deeper. This area was raised in the '61
model year to allow room to accommodate the hot air heater box under
it, between the transaxle and the package area floor. It's also why
only the '60 starter will fit a '60 since the later starter solenoid
won't clear the floor of the package area because it sits upward
while the '60-only starter solenoid sits to the side.
No matter how much sheet metal gets grafted onto the car through hook
or by crook, that deep package area is only found on 1960 model
'Vairs. Almost anything else, drivelines and front fenders and
noses and deck lids and whatever can be swapped out but nobody is
going to swap that package area.
tony..
PS: rear deck lids are quite different on '60s also although you
gotta look close to see it. Trunk sheet metal too.
