Isn't it Clark H. who has access to some of the "blue prints" (detailed plan drawings?) for the parts? If so, is the 64 leaf spring bolt listed? I haven't looked in my P&A 30 C for info... but as for the original bolts, I'm almost positive they have a round head like a carriage bolt, but without the square "wedge" under the head... The originals I took off my 64 were like that, and the NOS ones I got from the east coast vendor were just like them...
Just wondering...

I have not done any comparative testing of bolts, but what I understand
s that while Grade 8 (and higher) bolts do have a higher tensile
trength, they are overall more brittle than Grade 5 bolts, and are not
erhaps the de facto 'best choice' for some applications, especially
hose taking a lot of high shock loads and abrasive wear. Perhaps the 64
orvair spring bolts fit into this category -- I don't know -- I do know
put in 8's my cars (with Grade 9 nuts). Maybe the factory bolts were
itrided? <wag>
I am sure that if further information is required, it could be found on
he internet, and if someone looks and finds such, I would appreciate
heir sharing of the information.
Thank you,
Bill Strickland
