<VV> Red dot on tires

I worked for a while for a company that made tire balancers. These were not the type you see at the tire shop but for the auto manufacturers.
They spun the tire/wheel assembly and the machine marked?the tire?so the operator?knew where?to place the weights (size of the weight indicated on a digital readout he could see)
Eacht customer would dictate the color of the marks to be applied to the tire.
There is one reason for?to your red spot on tires.?
