Given the twistie belt deal, there is considerable friction as the belt runs
in the thing. 

 

Not that much due to the fact that the mass is very low and the loads are
small to non-existent due to the fact that it's an idler, not a
drive-pulley.  I reiterate..even if it should wear (unlikely)..who cares!
It will STILL function quite well as an idler for a LONG time!
