<VV> Non Corvair

Sorry, this is not Corvair, but mabe someone can suggest on information location.
My son picked up a"10" bolt GM rear axle. Bolt in axles, 10 bolt "scalloped" cover, 12 bolt ring gear, 31spline axles and 28 spline pinion. Axle stamped code is QK, which id's it as being a 2.73 open, fitting 65-69 Olds 88,98. Can't come up with the information we need to order a new ring and pinion. Don't know if it's considered an 8.2", an 8.5" or an 8.875 (12 bolt). I'm going to continue my search but if anyone has an idea let me know.
