The problem with swing axles is
that the rear track gets a little bit narrower under heavy cornering
conditions
which increases the rear roll center. Coupled with over inflated front
tires and amateur or reckless driving and a Corvair will spin out, but only
after
holding the road at a higher G level than other cars of the period
(Corvette
and exotics excepted).

You could also point out that the rear wheel angles shown in the
"illustration" in Nader's book showing the "tuck-under" of the rear wheel, could not be
achieved unless the factory shock absorber was removed from the car first.
The shock, stopping at full length, would prevent the wheel from moving further
to the point shown. The illustration was placed to show something that could
not happen. That is a lie in my opinion.
