Hi Guys,

A quick observation I just made this evening with my Corsa convertible. With
the top up.....no shimmy at 34-35 mph or any speed, even on a rough road.

I am still going to swap the front and back tires and have the tie rod and
ball joints looked at though.

Subject: <VV> Need advice on 65 Corsa convertible shimmy

Hi Guys,

I have a 65 Corsa convertible turbo that I purchased last August. I have
conventional 13" tires on the car and they are balanced to within a nat's
ass.

What I have been experiencing since I bought the car is a shimmy at exactly
34-35mph. It drives fine below and above that speed. I do not feel the
shimmy at all in the steering wheel. Now, it does not always do it, but more
times than not. A bump in the road at that speed will get it going, but not
always. I do notice the front fenders bobbing up and down when this goes on.

The ball joints seem to be fine by my inspection.

Form a recommendation I had the steering box arm bushing replaced with the
nylon type from Clark's. No change!

This past weekend I had advice given to me that it could be a shock gone bad
or that the alignment is out. As to the later the car tracks and steers
perfectly. But does that necessarily mean the alignment is right?

What say all ye of experience?
