I've never seen any hidden VIN # except the riveted one on the door jab on
the FC. I just came back looking at a rust free 700 and again couldn't find
a VIN on the frame. I didn't think the hidden VIN started on US cars till
1968 or so. I know in Canada I've seen corvairs? built in Europe with frame
VINs.----------------------------------------------Smitty Says; Trust me Dave, they are there. On the bottom of the left frame rail on FCs just in front of the boomrang bracket. On all Earlies and some Lates it is on the outboard face of the left frame stub. It is covered by the spring tower and the front axle must be removed to read it. I have no varication of this but I have heard on some Lates it is on the outboard face of the right frame stub and is covered by the spring tower of the front axle.
