If you are really worried about scratching the glass use bronze wool. It's
available at most hardware stores or on line and it comes in several grades
the same as steel wool.
I keep some handy in all three grades.
Also I use Bon Ami cleanser on a wet rag to polish glass or chrome.
If all that fails the glass polishing kit from Eastwood will take fine
scratches out.
