Bob,
We stay on the boost until the temp gauge passes 500 deg.F or the overtemp. buzzer comes on. Of course we don't drive on the Autobahn where you could get into overtemp conditions. This guy's wife obviously ignored the temp gauge and the buzzer. I was never on the boost long enough to get much over 450 deg.F even with 10 psi boost since our NJ state police tend to give out EXPENSIVE tickets if the speed limit is exceeded.
With a very long hill, you can run full boost without exceeding the speed limit by too much. But you'll probably run into the temp. limit in a couple of minutes, unless you're using "water cooling".

but for you pressurized guys and gals out there
just how long do you stay on the boost. I knew a Swiss gentleman whose
wife blew two EM turbo engines in their EM Spyder convertible by staying on
the boost continuously on the autobahn, but I have no other anecdotal or
real world experience on regular turbo operation.
How do you high pressure people use your cars?
