All,
I'm back to work on my '65 LA built Corsa convertible assembly after an 18 month hiatus. Now if I could only find everything that I removed two years ago......
Regarding the screws which hold the engine seal retainers to the body - I was thinking they were the "tophat" type screws like the ones holding the heater ducts together (that's what my '66 has on it), but if so I can't find them. The '65 assembly manual doesn't really show it as a tophat type screw (reference pg 115 in the '65 assembly manual) but more as a hex head sheet metal screw - which I happen to have about the right number of, but I'd like to be sure.
Can anyone with a '65 (preferably LA built) tell me what kind of screws are holding your retainers to the body? I know the LA built cars had staples holding the seal to the retainers which the Willow Run cars did not have, so there may be differences in the screws between the two plants as well.
Thanks in advance,
