<VV> New to Corvairs

Just purchased my first Corvair, a 1963 convertible.  I live in Salt Lake
and am wondering if anyone knows of a local mechanic that can work on
transmissions.  It is very difficult to get into second gear, does not grind
but just feels like there is no slot for the shifter to slide into.  It will
go from 1st to 3rd with no trouble.  Any feedback would be great.
