Tony, the issue was, sticking a set of hemi heads on a Corvair engine
requires rockers VERY different from the Corvair rockers.
AB-solutely. On this, we agree... (lol) Particularly of mention is
the off-angle layout in most air cooled aero hemi engines as regards
pushrods, and the rockers in these aero engines are nothing like the zigzag
shaped rockers necessary in a hemi head installation on a car of the likes of a
'Vair or any other engine with an inline bank of cylinders. One look at a
Mopar hemi rocker assembly is enough to make you glad 'Vair rockers are
the way they are.
You wouldn't happen to have any photos or diagrams of those aero hemi
heads, would you? I'd like to have a look, if I may. And yes, I've seen Mopar
hemi rockers, both the new type and the stuff from the '50's and know what
you mean. BTW, did you know that the original Dodge hemi had the same
bore as a 164 cid Corvair?
