<VV> Vapor lock

I had a 1967 Corvair that vapor locked easily. It turns out the fuel
pump pushrod was bad. The spring was either too short or too weak and
the pump barely got any stroke at all. Just enough to run at idle but
not keep any pressure in the lines when shut down. Replacing the
pushrod with another select used one solved the problem. Of course I
still like electric pumps for that quick prime after a week of shutdown
and then run on the mechanical pump after starting. It also helps when
stopping the car on a hot day to raise the engine cover to let the heat
out. This helps the boiling of fuel when the engine is very hot.
