The local Mustang club has an annual event to raise money for the Joy Fund.
All Marques are invited to participate, the entrance fee is a couple of cans
of food. Each entrant also receives a container with a slot cut into the
top. That container is placed in a conspicuous location so that if a
spectator likes the car, they can donate cash in an attempt to help that car
win the best of show trophy. At the end of the day, an official comes around
and collects the donation jars and totals up the donations for each car. He
who brings in the most money wins the best of show trophy. Don't know how
much they make each year, but I do know there have been owners who stuff
their own ballot box to try and win the trophy. It's even better when you
get two or three people who want the trophy badly.
