<VV> Why the question marks?

Sorry if we've been through this before but, if so, the answer has somehow  
eluded me.  Why do so many posts to Virtual Vairs come through with  obviously 
unintended question marks randomly inserted?  BTW, I get VV in  digest form if 
that makes any difference.  
 
Is there anything easy that folks can be advised to do or not do to avoid  
the unintended question marks?  I find them distracting.
