Bill Strickland asked: "I sincerely treasure every copy I have, like the
one with the self described "ugly mug" on the cover of Volume 6, Number 3 --
anybody know what happened to the Ian Richardson car of that issue?"

*************************************************

I was responsible for the article about Richardson's Corvair. The last
contact I had with him was many years if not decades ago. At that time, the
car had been stripped of the McLaren suspension parts and drive train and
was stuffed off in a corner of his shop. Mclaren parts and big block drive
trains being vary popular for restored/resurrected Can-Am cars.

Within the last five years or so I've tried to reconnect with Richardson
without any success. A friend of mine had a friend on staff at Autosport,
who I contacted. He wasn't able to provide any leads.

Like wise, I've tried to contact Frank Gardner about his Lola F-5000 based
Corvair they ran for many years down in the Land of Oz. I was told he was
not well and unable to reply, but he recently did a interview in MotorSport
magazine. So I don't know. I have a contact down under who has said he'll
see what he can do.

Historically Yours,
                   James Rice
