All: My daughter and son-in-law are in the floor covering business. I
called her and asked about removing carpet glue. She said the best thing to
do is the hammer and chisel method - or a grinder/sander with breathing
protection - rather than using a solvent. There is a solvent those in the
floor covering business sometimes use, but turns the hard glue into a gooey
mess which is worse to deal in their experience.

We are removing the carpet from a 1960 project car and someone GLUED the
carpet in! So we (Austin and I) are trying to get the dried on, AZ baked on,
glue off the floorboards and toe pan. I am considering a mask and lacquer
thinner. Does anyone else have another method and or concoction??
We are also pleading for panels as in door as everything is pretty well
baked! It is a 1960 totally NON optioned 500 4 dr about as plain Jane as
they ever came!
Thanks,
