I personally know this car. It has sat in the showroom window of Pellini
Chevrolet in Sebastopol California its entire life, along with other
examples of fine Chevrolet motor cars dating back to the 30s. To the best
of my knowledge, this car was purchased to keep as a collector's item,
rather than for sale. In the past, I have inquired regarding its status for
sale, but was told that, like all the other cars in the collection, Mr.
Pellini would not sell it. The mileage given is accurate but the car is in
surprisingly rough shape. Probably because of "shop rash" due to getting
moved around and bumped into. 40 years of people getting in and out, just
to say they sat in a Corvair, has taken its toll. I suspect that it has not
been started in 40 years. The carpets are a mess, and the tires and other
rubber parts have not fared well with the years. To be honest, it was
probably pretty rough when it was first delivered. It probably has a high
serial number as I was told this was one of the "last of the last". It's
sad to see local car dealerships go out. Pellini had been in business since
the early 30s.

65 convertible serial L100268 (does anyone have a lower number?)
