Probably not, due to case size, etc. However, if one were to throw a net  
beyond GM, there are possibilities. As well as more than 3 speeds! Miata tranny?  
BMW tranny? Or, to keep things more manageable, how about a Porsche 
automatic?  Reverse the Corvair engine, and the tranny will work as is. Now, you'll 
need to  come up with a rear suspension, but hey...
