don't need to keep adapting. So the less bright everyone's lights (and the
background lighting) are, the better it is for all of us. It would help if
we all banned BMWs, Mercedeses and Audis, for a start - every time one comes
towards me I am totally dazzled, whatever I am driving.

What gets my goat is the State Highway Dept. asking everyone to keep their
headlights on during the day.
I don't need the blinding effect; in fact, I can (and I wish everybody else
in my traffic would) hold off on turning on the headlights until it's really
dim--it's surprising how well one can see without headlights until the sun is
fully down.
