<VV> new questions re: engine knock

Does the knocking bear any relation to wheel speed?  That might indicate
u-joints or a spider gear missing a tooth.

Tough to generate that kind of noise with the car sitting in a driveway and
the engine idling, which is where the OP says he hears the "knock"!  Nearly
impossible with the PG the OP says the car has.

Good thought though....but it just doesn't fit the articulated
symptoms/conditions.
