Alan,
No, the first pic in the first listing is definately a stock 500 instrument
panel. Look closely and you'll see the no-chrome 500 steering wheel. And
yes, even the 500's had the "chrome" rings around the instruments. All LM
Corvair dashes were basically the same, with a black plastic
under-structure and a stamped overlay of sheet aluminum. The aluminum was
taped off around the instruments (the rings) and painted either wrinkle
silver (black on Corsa models and later years) or interior color (for the
500's).
On '65's only, they also had a "pinstripe" surrounding the entire
instrument panel. With the Monza's painted silver, it doesn't show very
well. But on the Corsa models, it shows up.
