  First car: A 1963 Chevy Corvair Monza in Cordova brown. "I got it from 
  my great aunt [in 1971] when she bought a new car. I was 16. ... 
  It had a 12-inch rust hole on the floor on the driver's side and, 
  every time I drove through water, I had to put both feet on a 
  rubber mat to keep the water from coming into the car. 
  I lived in the Chicago area at the time, and the hole 
  was a real thrill in winters."
