<VV> More ethanol problems - minor Corvair content

I have an older ( 1986 ) Chevy Motorhome and they set a lot and build 
varnash or the like in the system and my unit only has a small filter at the 
inlet to the carb, it has the third filter so far this year. I plan to add a 
large filter in the fuel line as soon as I find someone that knows which line 
is the feed to the pump ( Machanical ) and the return line to the tank. One 
is 1/4" line and the other is 5/16" I think. None of my manuals show this and 
my local Flap was no help.
 Any help with this is welcome.
