<VV> More ethanol problems - minor Corvair content

I have just finished a refurbishing of several small engine items such as a chain saw, leaf blower, and trimmer/edger. All had one thing in common - the internal clear fuel lines were eaten away. The primer bulbs were deteriorated in two. Additionally, a couple of the carburetors had what appeared to be a clear "gasket" that had formed over the pump diaphragm section that could be peeled/scratched off. While I expect some of these issues over a period of 3 to 4 years, it has been less than one season since I refurbished three of these same pieces. The thought occurs to me that turbo engine owners might see this same problem with the fuel return line from the filter to the fuel tank and be at risk of catastrophe, so it might be worth checking or replacing regularly. One of the pieces is a 4-cycle, so I don't think it makes a difference if there is oil mixed in. I think I will try flushing the fuel lines with carb cleaner prior to storage this time.
Happy Holidays,
Grant
