<VV> Membership question -- 100% vs Not.

The first thing to remember with a 100% membership requirement is that
some people are simply not joiners. No matter WHAT you'd do, they simply
will refuse to join. You could GIVE them a membership, and they STILL won't
join. I've seen it happen more than once. And I've never been able to
figure out why. Yet they will freeload off you, get you to find parts for
them, attend events that other club members attend and will fraternize with
them. But they flat-out refuse to join the club. Go figure.
The second thing is that it is almost impossible to verify 100% membership.
Lord knows, I've been round and round with the national on this with the
Air 'Vairs, and it never works out. I've simply given up trying.
To remedy this, I'm turning it all over to the national, via a new
membership renewal process that I've been told will be put in place some
time after the first of the year. I've posted before on this plan (the
national club collecting local dues, etc.) and feel that it will best serve
the membership. Bottom line is that we'll end up with guaranteed 100% CORSA
membership, and probably pick up more members in the process. If local
chapters were to voluntarily use this system, maybe the subject will solve
itself.
