<VV> Gen/Fan lite problem

On my '63 Rampside, sometimes my Gen/Fan lite does not come on when the key is switched on. I reach up and just wiggle the bulb holder/wires and it then turns on. This has a new bulb and I even switched it with the Temp/Press bulb but it still is not reliable. This vehicle has an internally regulated alternator but that should not matter. I have also cleaned the socket where it plugs into the cluster and have run a seperate ground wire to the cluster (as I do on all my Corvairs). This has been annoying me for about 6 months now and I'm concerned someday when I really need it to work it won't. Can anyone shed some "lite" on this matter? Thanks all.
