Pete, thanks for giving us something fun to "talk" about.
I've got a blog going where I detail obtaining most of my Corvairs
First one I purchased in 1985 for $950 (most I've paid) - '62 700
2-dr<http://corvairfleet.blogspot.com/2009/12/cpotd-9-one-that-started-it-all.html>-
drove it off-and-on - sold it in 1995 for $950
Second one I traded a '66 Catalina for in 2001 - '63 Monza
4-dr<http://corvairfleet.blogspot.com/2009/12/cpotd-11-one-that-brought-me-back.html>-
daily-driver until I pulled the engine for my daughter's '64 'vert -
Jeff
hauled it to the Corvair Ranch in 2005.
Third one I bought in 2001 for $500 - '64 Monza
convertible<http://corvairfleet.blogspot.com/2009/08/heidi-how-we-got-to-this-point.html>-
my eldest daughter's daily-driver.
Fourth one I bought in 2005 for $100 - '62 Monza 2-dr - got it running, but
it was too rusty to restore - stripped a bunch of parts and Jeff hauled it
to the Corvair Ranch in 2005.
Fifth and sixth were a package deal for $900 in 2006 - '61 Monza
2-dr<http://corvairfleet.blogspot.com/2009/09/ringo-how-we-got-here.html>and
'63
Monza 2-dr<http://corvairfleet.blogspot.com/2009/09/lucy-how-we-got-to-this-point.html>-
daily-drivers for my 20-year-old daughter and myself.
Sixth one was given to me last year - '66 500
2-dr<http://corvairfleet.blogspot.com/2009/09/betty-how-we-got-to-this-point.html>-
sits in my driver waiting patiently for me to put it back on the road
to
share daily-driver duties with the '63.
Seventh and currently last was sold to me for $1 last year - '68 500
2-dr<http://corvairfleet.blogspot.com/2009/09/glinda-how-we-got-to-this-point.html>-
it's in the garage being restored by my 16-year-old and I to be her
daily-driver.
