Have had an opportunity to examine the car more closely and to speak 
further with the owner.

My opinion is that this car is beyond restoration.  Correction -- 
anything is restorable, but this car is beyond economically feasible 
restoration.  Extensive rust, and a most unusual accident repair in 
the front.  Not visible until the trunk is opened.  And of course it 
does not run and hasn't for several years.

The best bet?  Rebody it.  Which is what the owner -- the car's 
original owner, who ordered it specifically to his liking in early 
1966 -- has decided to do.  His adult son lives in the southwest, and 
is going to look for a decent donor body.
